The owners of this lovely historic home wanted to make their rarely used screened sleeping porch more functional. They needed an area for laundry tasks and work space for art and sewing projects. We replaced the screen panels with casement windows, allowing for wonderful natural light in the new workroom. A trim detail above the windows created a nice shelf to display a vintage plate collection. Heart pine flooring was installed to match the existing flooring in the house. We kept the beadboard on the ceiling and walls, maintaining the character of the original porch. Custom cabinetry was designed for maximum storage and efficiency, and quartz countertops provide plenty of durable work surface. This beautiful space makes the daily tasks a pleasure!
