Before/After Floorplans

The renovation priorities for this 1950’s ranch were to enlarge and update the kitchen, increase bedroom, bath and living space, and change the overall character to reflect the Craftsman style. By designing second story, covered front porch and screened back porch additions, the roofline changed drastically, and the horizontal character of the ranch was quickly lost. We incorporated an existing bedroom to allow for more space in the family and kitchen areas featuring a stained oak coffered ceiling reflective of the Craftsman style. Custom kitchen cabinetry provided efficient storage space and a beautiful focus. French doors to the screened porch provide views of the stone fireplace and vaulted cedar framing. Upstairs, two comfortable bedrooms share a bath on one side of the addition, and the spacious primary suite is on the other. The additions to the home look as if they have always been there, reflecting a successful renovation.
