The clients' main need was to create more space in their home for their growing family without overpowering their existing house or the surrounding homes with a large addition. We removed the existing roof and created a second story space under a new roofline that provided the necessary height without changing the scale or character of the original home. The addition included 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a storage room, and an open common space. The creative roofline and generous amount of natural light make all of the rooms feel spacious. We were able to open up and improve the living space on the first floor to incorporate the new stairwell while making the overall feeling of the home more comfortable.
