Before/After FloorplansThe homeowners of this small 1930’s home loved their neighborhood and the character of their home, but they needed more space. They wanted to add two bedrooms, a full bath, and an entertainment area. We reversed the steps leading to the basement and designed stairs up to a second floor addition built under a new cross gable roof. The roofline allowed us to preserve the character of the home while adding creative second floor space to meet the family’s needs. Generous windows provide plenty of natural light making all of the rooms bright and comfortable. An efficiently divided bathroom allows for two people to use the space at once. Storage closets, two comfortable bedrooms, and an open entertainment area provide much needed living space and greatly increase the overall functionality of the home.
