This Decatur kitchen had a lot of wasted space. The awkward placement of the refrigerator blocked the entrance to the room making it feel tight and uninviting. By making some relatively simple layout changes, including flattening the refrigerator wall and incorporating a closet from the adjacent bedroom, SCAL was able to add an island and greatly improve the flow and function of the kitchen while updating all the finishes. The two-toned cabinets make the space feel larger while adding a touch of character to the space. The light grey cabinets are a beautiful contrast to the warm wood floating shelves and lower cabinets. The beautifully renovated kitchen provides the homeowners with the comfortable functionality they were lacking and reflects the updated style they love.

To accommodate the renovated kitchen on the other side of the wall, the adjacent bedroom's existing closet was removed. A simple yet impactful SCAL design added two new closets and a cozy window seat with storage. This design solution not only enhanced the bedroom but was the key to the kitchen transformation.
