The back of this Druid Hills home was in desperate need of improvement. The previous mudroom and storage space additions lacked efficiency and were not compatible with the aesthetics of this historic home. A large concrete driveway area left the family with no backyard greenspace. We removed the additions and built a larger mudroom and an open deck with outdoor living space below. We replaced the field of concrete with a wonderful backyard greenspace that includes a firepit area with built-in seating.
The new mudroom addition serves as a mudroom, laundry room, and the homeowner's main entrance to the home. The mudroom features custom cabinetry tailored to the homeowner's needs, basket-weave marble tile, and quartz countertops. As part of the renovation, we also updated finishes in the powder room and improved the kitchen's pantry storage. The v-groove paneling and marble tile are a beautiful addition to the powder room. The overall transformation gave this family the functional, comfortable living space they needed while upgrading the quality and appearance to a level worthy of this beautiful historic home.
