The homeowners wanted to replace their outdated detached garage with one that met all of the historical guidelines of their neighborhood. Working in the yard was a hobby they enjoyed, so they also wanted a convenient place to store their gardening tools. We designed a two-car garage that reflected details of the main house. The brick veneer with stucco above, gable roof, and window lite patterns were details consistent with the main house. To maximize the backyard space, we attached a garden shed to the side of the garage providing a convenient access to landscaping tools. This project not only gave the homeowners the improved function of the garage and shed spaces, but also replaced an eyesore of an outbuilding with a historically approved structure that ties together with the house beautifully.
