Before/After Floorplans

The back of this Druid Hills home was in desperate need of improvement. The previous mudroom and storage space additions lacked efficiency and were not compatible with the aesthetics of this historic home. A large concrete driveway area left the family with no backyard greenspace.

We removed the additions and built a larger mudroom and an open deck with an outdoor living space below. We partnered with King Landscaping to reimagine the backyard space. The field of concrete was replaced with a wonderful backyard greenspace. The change in grade was managed by adding terraced planters and stone staircases, which became a feature of the outdoor space. A lower patio was created with a built-in stone bench and room for a firepit. This renovation gave this family functional, beautiful outdoor living space while upgrading the quality and appearance to a level worthy of this historic home.
