“We have had the best possible experience with Justin, Amanda and Theresa at SCAL Home. They helped make our home renovation exactly what we wanted, and as seamless as possible at the same time.” – Ben & Liz W.
The Owners of this 1920's historic bungalow wanted reovate the kitchen to reflect their personalty and add a family room. We moved the laundry to the new basement area, allowing additional space for the kitchen to expand into the new family room addition. The dramatic ceiling vault required a structural beam that we finished as a unique design feature. Skylights and large windows fill this room with natural light. Special efforts were made to honor the historic features of this home such as relocating and reusing an existing stained glass window over the kitchen sink and installing reclaimed heart pine floors in the kitchen and family room to match the existing home. The white perimeter cabinets, white marble quartz counters and light gray backsplash tile brighten the space and are the perfect contrast to the warm heart pine floors, while the dynamic blue central island and large pendant are a visual highlight of the space. Seating is available at the island and the new banquet.
