“From our very first meeting to the day when the paint had dried, we knew that we were working with consummate professionals who take immense pride in their work. They were creative, attentive to detail, fast-moving, and responsive to our needs. In the end, we had exactly the basement renovation that we had envisioned” – Jim A. & Jeanne L.
The basement in this Craftsman-style house was already framed when the homeowners asked us to finish the interior. Our challenges included hiding the ductwork, using details consistent with the rest of the house, and maintaining an open feeling without sacrificing valuable storage space. We dropped soffits to house ductwork while maintaining high ceilings throughout a majority of the space. A room with generous light and backyard views was the perfect place for an office and daybed. The open central area provides entertainment and exercise space. Wainscoting, tile, molding, plumbing and light fixtures, stair railing and newel post details reflect the character and quality of the home, and the new basement provides the homeowners with the overflow space they desired.
