Our task was to convert this residential loft into a commercial yoga studio. The new design includes an entry area, two bathrooms, a kitchenette/ office, and a large exercise area within the existing space. The goal was to keep the open, industrial feel of the loft space while incorporating the special needs of a yoga studio. Elements such as exposed ducts, corrugated metal ceilings, exposed columns, high ceilings, an open floor plan and large windows were kept to maintain the loft feel. The entry foyer was designed to be both a functional space and an inviting waiting area with built-in seating, cabinetry for shoe storage, and coat/clothing hooks. The natural light and warm paint colors make this large, uncluttered space an ideal yoga studio.
