The objective of this project was to create an open master suite for the client within a proposed attic addition. We were able to add the second floor space by building a gabled dormer at the back of the existing roof without affecting the appearance of the house from the front. The original character of the Lake Claire home remained unchanged. The addition included an open bedroom, generous closet space, a large bathroom, storage, and an office area. The window at the back gable provides wonderful natural light and private views to the wooded back yard. The stairwell was created as a design element that is a nice focus both from the entry and dining room on the first floor as well as from the open space on the second floor
