These homeowners had a two-level deck that lacked shade and was constantly collecting leaves. They wanted to be able to enjoy the outdoor space and backyard views more comfortably. We replaced the decks with a large screened porch that allowed for a sitting area as well as a large dining table perfect for dinner parties. Below the porch, we created a covered sitting area with a cabana feel and a grilling area. It was the perfect transition space between the living area on the basement level of the house and the back yard patio. Cedar framing included custom brackets below the porch and was a natural complement to the stonework. The end result is a comfortable outdoor living space that feels like an extension of the home and is enjoyed most of the year.
