“SCAL was amazing to work with, and are a very conscientious and professional group of people. Their attention to detail, quality of materials, workmanship, and communications were all outstanding.” – Cylinda P. & Yen T.
This 1950's ranch home included a carport that the homeowners used, but having more living spaces was a higher priority. We converted the carport and small adjoining room into finished space that includes a comfortable family living area, an office area, a laundry room, and a half bath. Dark paneling was removed, and large picture windows were installed to allow for ample natural light. Incorporating a new laundry room allowed us to remove the washer and dryer from the crowded kitchen. We were able to use the space vacated by the washer and dryer to create much needed pantry space and relocate the refrigerator which greatly improved the layout and traffic flow. Hardwood flooring was installed throughout the new space to match the rest of the home. All areas of the renovation are reflective of the homeowners' Mid-Century Modern style and tie in with the rest of the home seamlessly. This renovation successfully provided the living and working spaces that the family needed.
