These homeowners were adding a pool and asked SCAL to create a modern pavilion with an outdoor kitchen. We designed and built a dramatic steel structure with a privacy wall on the neighbors' side, and a cantilevered overhang on the pool side. The outdoor kitchen includes durable stainless-steel cabinets, a grill, a sink, beverage refrigerator, and a built-in cooler. Durable outside quartz was used for the countertops. The tongue and groove ceiling is beautiful and functional - keeping the electrical wires out of sight. A large ceiling fan and retractable screen were installed to help stay cool on hot days. Tile was installed on the privacy wall, and tile pavers on the floor to tie in seamlessly to the pool hardscape and lower patio area. 

We updated the existing deck by widening the stairs and adding contemporary horizontal metal railing. New light fixtures and paint freshen up the space. We also replaced an existing window in the basement with a door to connect the house to the improved covered patio on the lower level. 

With the help of the new pool, we converted a rarely used greenspace into a wonderful backyard oasis. The pavilion is a design feature enjoyed from every angle of this backyard renovation.
