Before/After Floorplans

This kitchen had been renovated previously, and it lacked storage space and character. There were minimal upper cabinets, so closets and furniture in the breakfast area had to house food and dishes. The kitchen felt separated from the breakfast and living areas with a dropped ceiling and an island with columns on each end. We removed the columns and raised the ceiling, creating a bright and open space. The layout was changed to be more efficient and allow for ample cabinet storage and counter space including a large island. Combining the need for structural beams with some stained faux beams created an attractive design element and helped define the new space. White cabinets, crackled glaze subway tile, marble quartz countertops, an apron-front sink, and bridge faucet are details that make up this classically beautiful kitchen renovation.
