Before/After FloorplansThis growing family needed more living and storage space in their small bungalow. We designed an attic addition that maintained the proportions and character of the original house and added three bedroom and two bathrooms upstairs. On the first floor, we expanded the footprint slightly as we converted a small bedroom into a comfortable family room open to the kitchen and new screened porch addition. We also renovated the existing bathroom on the first floor. The new layout is open with plenty of natural light, making all of the spaces feel larger. The new stairwell was positioned to be a visual feature at the front entry. Custom stained glass windows in the stairwell add a personal touch as they light the entry to the new second floor. The upstairs layout includes a master suite, laundry closet, two kids’ bedrooms, a shared hall bath, and plenty of closet space. Our renovation provides everything this family needed to be comfortable in their home for many years to come.
